Pallet-x2 is the ninth in my family of Do-it-Ourselves prototypes. The frame is made primarily from an old shipping pallet and a piece of 1" square punched zinc tube. The wheels, axle, axle receiver, caster assembly, and wheel-locks were purchased from China.
The Pallet-x2 is the closest wheelchair I have made so far that performs similar to a standard ultralight wheelchair. It uses 25" rear wheels, 4" x 1.5" casters, and has low mount sport wheel-locks. The rear wheels use quick release axles that mount into a fabricated metal axle receiver.
